Haiti

I leave Thursday morning. I'm traveling with a group of about 23 to Gonaives, Haiti, to participate in a short-term medical missions trip. We'll be there for 7 days, and my main task will be healthy living teaching. Just your basics - sanitation, nutrition, dehydration. But the real reason we're going is, as David Smith puts it, to offer a cup of cold water in Jesus's name.
I've never been to Haiti. Our group has many repeat travellers. I got to meet with some of them on Sunday night. Their love for the Haitian people was so evident, even in Cabot, AR.
I'm also going with some of the coolest nursing students on the campus. Millie - she oozes kindness and true concern for others. Crystal - she is so very patient and loving. Kristen - she has a love for life and a thirst for knowledge. Krista - she is kind and enthusiastic. Megan - she sparkles - that's the best way to describe her! Sheila - my fellow faculty - is dedicated to her God and to nursing excellence.
I ask you pray for our safety, but mostly I ask you pray for the people we will be meeting and introducing to Jesus.
